Hi there 🙂
I'm English but have been living in Mainz since 1999. I didn't speak any German when I came here, but learnt quickly listening to the locals. I work in a day nursery looking after children 1-3 years old. I have two children myself, 11 and 16 years old.
Mainz is well known for its carnival, which is one of the biggest parades in Germany. It's also the birthplace of Johannes Gutenberg, who was the inventor of the printing press.
My home town in England is Leeds, a big university city. It's in England's biggest county, Yorkshire, and has two national parks and a beautiful coastline.
I love exploring new places, walking in the countryside and learning about other countries and cultures
