About Christine...

"There may be better times, but these are ours."
- Jean Paul Sartre -

Hello dear friends,

I started Postcrossing many years ago after reading an article about it in the local paper. I really liked the idea of writing postcards "the old fashioned way" and sending them out into the world. Every card that finds its way into my letterbox makes me smile.

I stopped writing for a while after my son was born. When he was 5, I started writing cards again. It was always fun to show him what part of the world postcards came from. He is now 14 and has set up his own Postcrossing account. I got a bit lazy about writing and took a few more years off.

Now that the world has turned upside down, I've reactivated my account today (2024-04-15). We can all use a little happiness. And what could be better than getting colourful/beautiful/funny/interesting postcards from nice interesting people?

I love all the cards that find their way to me. It can be something you find interesting or something you are very passionate about. Of course, I'm also very happy if you find something that matches my many interests. I'll just list a few of them, ok?

- calligraphy
- bookbinding
- photography
- Sewing (not clothes, rather things I can make from old material, e.g. lunch bags)
- Knitting and crocheting (last crochet project was a coffee set; plates, cups, cake slices, etc.)
- Plotting (I bought a plotter last year and enjoy combining this new hobby with my sewing :-)
- Reading (I never travel without a book)
- Music (mostly music from the 80s, independent music, I'm a big Depeche Mode fan, in July 2023 I was in Frankfurt/Stadion for the "Memento Mori Tour" - mega concert)

In short: I'm very excited about you and your card. If you like, feel free to write me something about yourself, what moves you, what's on your mind or what's on your heart. I'm really looking forward to it!

All the best from Germany
Christine
