About Alivia...

Hi there! We took over mam's account!
Our names are Alivia (Almost 2) & Aivar ( born this April)
As you can read on the bottom of this page our mam has seen a lot of the world and now it is our turn!
We would love to get to to know the beautiful places all over the world and what a good way to start by sending postcards across. We would love to know how you count from 1 to 10 in your native language. How you say Hello, how are you?! Just de basic things. Or maybe just something nice that you want to share with us.

Our mam's story:
I am a 32 year old female who lives in the South of the Netherlands, near the Belgian en German Border. (approx 20 minutes).

I love travelling and already seen a lot of our World. But still enough to see... The first real trip was to the east of North America. And soon after more trips followed. For my education I have done several internships abroad, I lived in Aruba (Dutch Antilles), Sydney (Australia) for several months. Because I was so close I also visited Bonaire and Curacoa while I was there. The same for Australia when I was there I visited the Eastcoast, Tasmania, Melbourne. Went to New Zealand to do a road trip with a friend to help her move from the Northern to the Southern Island and ended my trip in Fiji. In between this all I also visited China, walked the great wall and climped the biggest building in Dubai (the biggest back then;)).

After graduation I started working for several months, but the world kept calling and I really wanted to do some volunteer work abroad. A new trip started... for 10 months around the world. Starting in Borneo (Malaysia) where I did volunteer work for a month. After that, the travelling on my own started. Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand (North), Laos, Thailand (South), Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia (Western Australia), Hawaii (Christmas), New York (New years) and back home to be back in time for the birth of my first nephew. Amazing ten months! My first Niece can be born any minute now.

Back to "the real World", life started. Everywhere can be "Home", It's what you make of it. A year without travelling is a missed change for me, I will always try to make a small trip if it is not possible to make a bigger one. Travelling does not have to be expensive, it depends on what you are willing to pay for it. Since I got back from my "World trip", I visited Costa Rica, Niguragua and Panama, Nepal and India. Love it!! New countries, new (local) people. A new world where people live in! And I had to change to be part of it. The best feeling there is for me.

As you can make up out of my story! I love exploring, meeting new (local) people, cultures, amazing places and so on. Maybe you can show me a part of your world and it might be my next travel destination!! Looking forward to it!
