My name is Alec. I live in a wonderful city in the westernmost region of Russia.

I graduated from the Faculty of History. Now I work in a small library. I really like to read, especially fantasy. My favorite books in this genre are "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" by John Tolkien.
I also like books: "Gormenghast" by Mervyn Peake, "A Room of One's Own" by Virginia Woolf, "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte, "The Saga of the Elderlings" by Robin Hobb, "Harry Potter" by J.K. Rowling, "The Gray House" ("The House, In Which...") by Mariam Petrosyan, books by Philip Dick, Max Frei, Terry Pratchett, poems by Russian poets of the Silver Age, Joseph Brodsky and French "Cursed Poets". I love classic European and Russian novels of the XIX century.

I also love fine art, especially I like pre-Raphaelite painting.

I am interested in the culture of East Asia: China, Korea and Japan. I like historical series, traditional clothing, painting, architecture, mythology, nature. I am also interested in the mentality and peculiarities of the culture and social life of these countries.
I like the anime Hayao Miyazaki, Naruto and Code Giass. I was captivated by Chinese novels “Auspicious Pattern Lotus House” (吉祥纹莲花楼) by Teng Ping (藤萍) and "Lang'ya Bang" by Hai Yan. And recently I watched a series about the Beijing Opera - and I'm delighted.

I like to travel, although by nature I am a stay-at-home person. I dream of visiting various interesting places in my country and the world. I want to see real mountains, warm ocean, visit the Arctic Circle...
