TRNAVA (69,500 inhabitants) is a natural center of lower Povazie, the seat of district and region and the seventh largest city in Slovakia. The University of Trnava and the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, since 1978 Trnava is the Slovak metropolitan seat of the Archbishop. The city center was declared an urban conservation area in 1987.
