This wonderful painting by K. Makowskij is titled "Die Blindekuh" in German, although it would probably be "Blindman's Buff" in English. I wonder if people still play this game; I remember it quite clearly from my childhood. The rich colors and vivid detail of the painting conjure up the atmosphere of a joyous activity from a time much longer ago than my childhood. Are such rooms still preserved today? I do hope so! (I also hope that such innocent laughter can still be heard.)
