Neryungri is the second largest city in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Located on the northern spurs of the Stanovoy Ridge, with absolute heights of 800–850 m. It is one of the highest-mountain cities in Yakutia.
The city is obliged by its appearance to the “black diamond” deposit - coking coal.

Не́рюнгри — второй по величине город в Республике Саха (Якутия). Расположен на северных отрогах Станового хребта, с абсолютными высотами 800—850 м. Это один из самых высокогорных городов Якутии. Своим появлением город обязан месторождению «чёрного бриллианта» — коксующегося угля.
