Igreja do Carmo (a Baroque/Rococo style, built in the second half of the eighteenth century, between 1756 and 1768), is covered by a great panel of tiles, depicting scenes allusive to the founding of the Carmelite Order and Mount Carmel. The composition was designed by Silvestre Silvestri , painted by Carlos White and performed in the factories of the Senhor do Além e da Torrinha, in Vila Nova de Gaia, and dated of 1912. |
