Wonderful as this photo is, it doesn't give much idea of how big Lake Titicaca actually is. All the same, I like the immense sky, the canoe that reminds me vaguely of a Viking longboat, the houses on the Isla Santa Maria, and the almost-smooth waters of the broad lake. Is some of the water so dark despite the light-filled clouds in the sky, because the lake is actually very deep?
