The big event in Nara that is held in the 4th Saturday of January every year.
This event is called "Wakakusayama yamayaki(若草山　山焼き）".
Grasses of Mt. Wakakusa are burned like this picture.
It is said that such grass burning in Mt.Wakakusa has been for a long time ago ,and Todaiji Temple and Kofukuji Temple started burning officially since the end of Edo period.
