Keris are used fur display, as talismans, weapons, a sanctified heirloom, an accessory for ceremonial dress, an Indicator of social status, or a stymbol of heroism. In 2005, UNESCO gave the tittel Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity to the keris of Indonesia.
