Great painting, great painter. It was quite new a thing that restaurants advertised, tables for ladies. Earlier these weren't available. What else did Hopper put in this painting. There's a woman entering the door stick first, what does that say? And that it's rather quiet, is that because of the financial crisis of the time? And, personal wonder, do I see grapefruits, melons or Dutch cheeses in the window? |
