Groeten uit / Greetings from Haarlem, Noord-Holland, where I live since June 2021.

May peace be with you.
I find Postcrossing is for an exchange of thoughts turned visual to widen our horizons. Do you agree? I’m truly shocked by the sheer IGNORANCE, INDIFFERENCE and DENIAL most of all, of what is going on politically. People get killed, hospitals are bombed, children abducted.

I’m an art lover and avid reader, a retired librarian, mother and grandmother. Occasionally I help immigrants learn Dutch.

Economy and ecology clash. We should focus on what is best for the planet, I think, and thus for all people. I joined Extinction Rebellion therefore, but cut it off again when they started meddling with war politics. These should be kept separate, in my opinion.

Whoever said “Power Corrupts” was right. Never give people much power. We tend to abuse it.

Khatia Buniatishvili from Georgia playing Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 in Kyiv, 2016. Also her Ukrainian Dance was recently added.

Standard sized postcards preferred. My faves are cards I did not receive myself. Envelopes and blank postcards welcome, as well as postcards with (unusual) stamps on them.

My avatar is a cupboard bed from the national open air museum in Arnhem where I lived from 1985 to 2021. I love beds, esp. in paintings.

I appreciate information on whatever you're sending. It would be nice if people wrote captions and comments to their postcards; that is, when the picture is not self-evident.
