Schwetzingen with palace and palace garden mentioned in 765 came to the Count of Palatinate in 1200. The small moated castle of the Schomburg family (1350) became the core of the palace complex (1715). In the palace park, laid out in the English garden style, there are two circular houses with a Rococo theater (1752), a bathhouse (1766) and mosque (a decorative garden element, 1778).
