About Maria...

I am a middle-aged, professional writer, write books (novels, short stories, poems) to adults and children.
I´m married and have three grown-up children.

When I look at the huge amount of cards I´ve sent and received I sometimes think: " What´s the sense in this? Do I buy and send all those cards to the winds of the sky?", as we say in Finnish when we mean something unnecessary and wasted. And:"Do I really get to know anyone in the endless stream of names and addresses?"
Anyway...I´m so happy and delighted of all those surprising, lovely cards I have a chance to get from great people all over the world. How heart-warming and inspiring! I always stop for a while to think of the person who has sent me the card. And it is really a great pleasure to send a card to someone - perhaps a friend after that ;) Thank you so much to all of you. I´m convinced that we can make the world a little bit better and familiar place by this funny way of ours: postcrossing!

To me you can send anything beautiful (except city skylines & city-multiviews - if you possibly think they are beautiful). (I must say that I myself prefer countryside and towns to restless, noisy, polluted metropolises.) - And if you could find a postcard related to READING somehow (somebody reading a book, letter, newspaper, timetable etc.),or literature in general, I would be very pleased. Art cards from museumshops would be appreciated, too.
