Hello Postcrossing friend

My name is Elisabeth. I live in Portland, Oregon, in the United States of America; I immigrated many years ago. I am originally from Switzerland, which means I will never be truly American... but Portland is home now.

I got introduced to Postcrossing a few years ago, then got sick and let my membership lapse. But I've found I miss meeting bright, inquisitive fellow humans from all parts of the globe. So now I'm back, and can't wait for the new connections that are going to get made.

The needs of refugees and immigrants move me, I care about racial justice and gender equality, about the rights of those with less privilege. I care deeply about our beautiful endangered planet. Share with me what you are passionate about.

For fun, I love exploring, be it camping in summer in our mountains, or going to far-away places. I imagine your postcard will give me little glimpses of places I'd love to go to. Maybe someday I will, who knows?

I love music and singing. Especially music with many parts, so I can hear the harmonies. I sing in two choirs now, a big one and a very intimate, small one. We sing at the bedside of people who are ill or dying. It's deeply meaningful work.

Plants make me happy, wildflowers and trees. Light on the water. Views from high places. People pictures. Anything that's beautiful. What is beautiful to you?
