About Leila...

Hello!

I love getting postcards from people all around the world. I live in Uppsala but I study biomedicine in Stockholm. I have several interests such as books, films, musicals, music, cooking/baking, science, animals, human rights, travel, and much more.

The postcards can be in any shape, form or style and theme. All I ask is that it is in fact a postcard and that you write something on the back - anything really. If the card is special to you, it would mean even more to me :) If you think your English isn't good enough, then please still write. We've all been in that situation and look at it this way - it's good practise! :) It makes things so much more interesting and fun! Speak out. Be random :)

If you are wondering about my favourites postcards then please do check my wall. You'll probably notice that my taste is very varied though.

If you want a wishlist then here are a few things that I'd love:
- something special to you
- owls and dogs
- London, Chicago, New York and Paris
- UK/US politics
- anything Doctor Who or Harry Potter related.
- books, bookshops, libraries
- cafés (especially classical street views)
- skylines (especially at night or very colourful or things that depicts city life)
- marine life (particularly tropical, whales, dolphins, turtles, colourful, idyllic islands or interesting fish.)
- LGBT related cards
- science and medicine (including psychology and anatomy and historical)
- City or street life
- Rain or snow
- black and white photography
- cool typography/inspirational quotes
- Leonid Afremov paintings (I threw this in because I found one postcard here at PC and had no idea there were any.)
- National Geographic photography

However, as I said before, you can send me any kind of postcards. I'm not picky and will be happy with anything I get :) I don't want anyone to feel obliged and the list above is just a very small sample of the many things that I like :)

I love meeting and getting to know new people who have common interests. If you want to exchange email addresses for chats, then send me a message or write it on the card :)

I register the cards as soon as I get them. I also try to accommodate everyone's wishes for specific cards but as I always have a collection of pre-bought cards and then use those until I need to buy more, I can't always fulfil everyone's preferences. Also, as much as I would love to do private swaps or tags, I unfortunately have a limited budget and can't be part of that :(
