About Tammie...
Hello!
My name is Tammie, I am 42 years old, and from Illinois which is in the midwestern part of the United States. Currently I live in a suburb of Chicago with my boyfriend, 18 year old son, 16 year old daughter and Vizsla puppy.
I enjoy learning about different places and the people who live there. I don't travel much inside of my own country, let-a-lone outside of the U.S, so I am very excited to have a chance to view of the rest of the world.
I started collecting postcards when my daughter participated in a "Flat Stanley"** project in the 3rd grade. Through that, I have postcards from many places, but none addressed/written to me! I really like the idea of collecting more of my own.
To let you know a little about who I am...
I collect penguin things, and things with penguins on them. I love to see the sunrise, and have taken the long car ride to the East coast to watch it rise over the ocean. I think mountains are one of the most beautiful sights, along with the forest on a foggy morning. And, although I am terrified of heights, bridges fascinate me to the point of trying to get over my fears just to say I was able to cross.
Please send me whatever you'd like. I don't consider myself to be picky at all, in fact I am both easily pleased and amused. I love to think about someone that I never even knew sent me a postcard! It makes this big unknown world that much smaller.
I look forward to hearing from you!
**For those who don't know about it, or teachers interested in a fun project for their students-Flat Stanley (the way my daughter's class did it) is a paper doll. The students made one of their own and then sent it to a relative or a friend. The friend then sent the student a postcard at school (from Stanley) telling about where they live and what he did while visiting. Stanley would then be sent on to another person, in another area. This would go on through the year, and the kids would learn about different areas and track Stanley's travels.
There is more information available and suggestions on the internet!!
