I am a 49-year old single mother of two young men, and am a 6th grade teacher at a small Catholic school in a beautiful northern Michigan town. I often share the postcards I receive with my students to help them learn about geography and other cultures.

I started Postcrossing when my older son's teacher challenged his class to collect postcards from 50 different countries and all 50 of the United States within the first 100 days of school (roughly September to early February). They did not achieve their goal, but learned a tremendous amount about geography and culture in the process. Now I'm hooked and just do it for myself! :)

My favorite types of postcards are:
-recipes and food
-handmade cards, especially with your own photographs
-humorous cards
-Catholic/christian themes
-aerial views
-Coca Cola
-shaped cards
-famous landmarks or unique geography
-NASCAR, auto racing
-optical illusions

I enjoy cooking, gardening, crocheting, reading, and watching movies.

I will be thrilled with any card you choose for me! If you wish to send your card in an envelope, please consider including some small item....a candy wrapper, a movie ticket, part of the newspaper, an expired pass for public transportation.....whatever you like (and won't cost extra postage for you).
