About Karen...

I live in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK in a town which is famous for being William Shakespeare's birthplace.

I am 50, married with one son (27) who currently lives in Southampton.....he is a talented artist and illustrator. I work in the community as a Mental Health worker. I am also involved in a community project which delivers art to people from all backgrounds. Check out www.escapeworkshop.co.uk.

My husband designs websites and is in two bands, one called Meet on the Ledge, which he formed 15 years ago.....have a look at www.motl.co.uk. He plays guitar and writes most of the material. My interests are music, comedy, reading, swimming, gardening, making things, arts, meeting people and travel. I am particularly interested in foreign travel and different cultures. My favourite holiday was to Gujurat and Rajhasthan in India, where I went in 2002. Last year I had a fantastic trip to Canada, where my husband and I went round the Rockies in a Winnebago. I love meeting people and would love to backpack around the world. I am currently planning a trip for 2010 to Morrocco, Africa (north and south), India, China, Japan and Tibet.

I love cats and although we haven't currently got one I am sure that won't be for long. The handsome beast in the picture is our recently departed Pof, who was very much loved and 18!!

I like postcards which are quirky, funny or arty, including handmade ones. I also like natural history, amazing scenery, stones, animals, local traditions, costumes, crafts...that about covers most things!.... don't particularly like the typical tourist views. Also, if you are from Finland, I collect Kaj Stenvall cards....he is ace.
