Warm greetings from the island of Mauritius , nestled in the warm, turquoise Indian Ocean. Necklaced by coral reefs bubbling with life . Mauritius used to be the island of the fabled Dodo, till it was eaten into extinction.
I collect stamps, trivia and quotations . I devour books and cannot live without my faithful radio .
I love the British Royal family , especially the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge .
I share the same birthdate as Sir Winston Churchill (100 years separate us !! ; a card with his legendary portrait will make me very happy indeed !!
As a practising paediatrician , i would be elated to receive cards with babies and children, and especially breast feeding mothers.
I like my cards written with lots of colouful stamps !!

Mauritius was the 1st British colony, and 5th country in the world to issue stamps in 1847. The first stamps issued - Mauritius 1d red and 2d deep purple , dubbed the 'Post Office' stamps are the crown jewels of philately . The Bordeaux Cover with the 2 stamps was sold in November 1993 for a record 5.75 million Swiss francs. Mauritius stamps have since then been very much sought after !!
