About Heather...

Hi! My name is Heather and I am married with a 14 year old (she is our niece but we raise her). Our 19 year old nephew also lives with us. We are joined by our beautiful Irish Setter and our one year old kitty (and as of May 2013, a Gordon Setter puppy). I'd have many more pets if I could because I love animals! Some people like cats or dogs more, but I love them both. So that would be my very first wish for a postcard, one with a photo of an animal on it would delight me and make my day and if you can send me one-thanks in advance!

People would describe me as outgoing because I love to talk to people of all cultures, I simply love making new friends! My closest friends are from New Zealand, Japan, Australia and Pakistan lol. I have been learning Japanese drumming (taiko) for three years and Indian dancing (Bollywood) for five years. I make cards and love to knit and crochet too. In fact I love all handcrafts and my husband calls me 'grandma' as a result. He almost never calls me 'Heather', always 'grandma' but I am only in my 30's (and I secretly love my nickname).

Other cards I love, include:
-Cards that make me laugh (bunny suicides, Anne Taintor etc...)
-Cute cards (such as Lali riddle cards, Snoopy, Hello Kitty etc...)
-Cards with lots of bright, happy colours
-Mailboxes and postboxes

If you love the card you send me, I am sure I will too!

If you don't have any of those cards listed above, dont worry! Perhaps you can show me the natural beauty of your country because the world has some amazing lakes, rivers, coastlines, snow covered trees, fields of beautiful flowers and grass etc...

And of course I have cards I dont like to receive as much (I am sure we all do). I don't like postcards of buildings very much and as a result, I dont like city views much (night views are sometimes pretty though). And dont worry, if all you can buy is tourist cards, I will still register it as soon as it arrives!

Please make sure that what you send me is actually a postcard. I don't like double/folded/greeting cards which I often get from the Netherlands (Google translate tells me: Geen dubbele kaarten, dankzij). This is called 'postcard exchange' so I think it is only fair to buy and send nice postcards!

I like to choose beautiful cards for people (you can check my sent cards if you like, I upload all of them) and I will always attach 2 or 3 different stamps. This is because for me, the stamps are as important as the postcard. Because I love to receive lovely stamps, I try to use lovely stamps for you too. Please put your stamps on my postcard and not on an envelope.

I know my profile is long, I want you to get to know me a little bit, thank you for reading it all!

Happy postcrossing!
Heather
