About Catalina...

Hello fellow postcrossers!

I am a Romanian living in Sweden. I have also lived in Bosnia and Herzegovina, USA (IN), Jordan and Turkey. So I always get excited receiving postcards from those countries or regions. I love postcards because they are such a convenient (yet sometimes tricky) way of showing you care. I started sending postcards to my family, back in the day when the internet was not as omnipresent, and I was at summer camp. When I moved abroad and wanted to communicate with my grandparents I started writing letters home. I also found this a more personal communication than emails, so I extended the practice to lovers and friends. When I discovered this website, it blew my mind and I jumped right in. However, over the years I was more active or less so, depending both on how often I moved, my emotional state or even my financial situation. So here we find ourselves, both interested in this antiquated form of communication and somehow fascinated by making contact with perfect strangers. Please, don't think of what you write to me as a filler for the back of the picture, but a way take some worries away, promote something you like, or even as a way to spark joy.

I always appreciate the picture/drawing/etc. on the postcard just as much as the message itself. So please write either the latest thought that crossed your mind, or your favorite movie, book, place to be, or even send me a recipe of your favorite dish. Any particular interest of yours would be great to read about.A quote or a personal anecdote is also a great thing to read.

As for what is on the postcard, the more unconventional, the better.
I would particularly appreciate:
-anything related to Yugoslavia or the countries that are what used to be part of it;
-illustrations (like those from children's books or old folk tales)
-OLD LADIES. Because grannies are the best. or old men. old men are also good
-CAMELS: I've been collecting camels for a while now to raise my value on the MENA market. So far it's going well.
-BIKES
-social justice themes
-history+politics
-propaganda postcards, and here i mean political. If you find something from the communist period, it would really make my day.
-commercials
-promotions of cultural events
-photography
-patterns
-books
-knitting

For more guidance (as if what I wrote above was not enough), feel free to look at my favorites or check out my postcard blog: http://vederi.tumblr.com/!

I am not very fond of multiviews, but if that is what you have I don't mind
