Hello, my dear fellow postcrossers!

I'm a doctoral candidate (contemporary history) and a non-fiction author, living and working in the beautiful city of Turku in the south-western part of Finland.

There are lots of things that I am interested in, some of them listed below. Please feel free to send any card YOU like - I will like it just as much! Whatever card you pick, I'm also curious to hear if there is a story behind the picture. Or if you have a favourite quotation, wise words someone has once said, an aphorism - feel free to share it with me! It would also be supercool to get a phrase or something in your own native language. :)

So, besides history, I find fascinating:

- Philosophy: I truly enjoy pondering and wondering and analyzing things and thoughts.

- Travelling & foreign cultures: Do you have an own special festival in your country? Old, unique traditions? Interesting food?

- Arts & architecture: I take great pleasure in looking at (beautiful) things and listening to music. I love reading. I often stop and admire old and/or unique buildings and houses.

- Nature & wildlife: I'm very much interested in seeing pictures of your country's special species!

- Cartoons & comic strips: I would love to learn about cartoons and cartoon characters that are popular in your country (but perhaps hardly known elsewhere). My favourites (internationally known cartoons) are for example Calvin & Hobbes, Peanuts, Zits, Asterix, Lucky Luke, works of Cars Barks and Don Rosa. Plus some Finnish ones (not known in abroad) like Väinämöinen and Mämmilä.
