Hi, I am a 30-something journalist who now works in the wine industry. I'm married to a total number cruncher, my complete opposite. We have two kids under three, which eats up most of my time and energy, but they are my life.
We live just outside Cape Town, at the foot of a mountain and close to the ocean and life doesn't get much better than that.
In my spare time (what spare time?) I like to create things, often with disasterous consequences because I usually bite off more than I can chew. My list of successful and not so successful projects includes crocheting a blanket for my kid's bed, building a bookcase, painting a wall 3x because I didn't like the colour, stripping the vinyl off our kitchen floor and realising half way that the glue would never come off.
Here's what I like:
Reading, Bruce Springsteen, history, sleeping in a tent, knitting, tending to my tomato plants, anything by Agatha Christie, dogs, riding waves, climbing to the top of a mountain, rollercoasters, a good red blend, yapping with friends and losing myself in a movie.
