Hola! I'm a writer and editor, originally from California but living now in Costa Rica for 10 years (where did the time go?). My husband and I have a six-year-old son who LOVES to get things in the mail and he really enjoys looking at the postcards! I am a big animal lover; we have 8 dogs and 5 cats at the moment (all of them rescues), and I read (mostly historical novels; Jane Austen is a favorite author), garden (orchids, bonsai and veggies), and quilt to relax. We used to keep chickens, and I still like to collect chicken things.
I really like all kinds of postcards, but some of my favorites are (in no particular order)
-- FIFA World Cup 2010 / Zakumi
-- wildlife
-- insects, snakes, lizards, animals people might find "creepy" :-)
-- orchids
-- art, especially "Naifs et Primitifs" and Bouguereau
-- food, drinks and recipes (especially vegetarian!)
-- funny cards
-- quilts/quilting
-- owls and raptors of all kinds
-- cool/interesting ad cards (*especially* if it is a product or place from where you live and that you particularly like!)
-- multiple things or collections on cards
-- chickens
-- movie posters
-- Star Wars/sci-fi
-- scenic views
-- music/bands
-- vintage cars, like 70s muscle cars and older sportscars (MGs, etc.)
Of course, feel free to send anything. Surprise me! The only cards I'm not so big on are buildings/architecture. I prefer the more wild side of life!
