About Nynke...

Hi,

my name is Nynke (a real Dutch name, pronounced somewhat like neenke (with the 'ee' as in sea)) and I'm a married mother of three children, living in Amsterdam (nowhere near the redlight district;)).
I am a physics teacher, but currently not working as a teacher. One of my hobbies is goldsmithing (is that a word?), making jewellery out of silver and gold. And I love to make/create things like photographs, cakes and paper stuff. And last, but not least, I collect sand samples from around the world.

I read about postcrossing in a magazine and love the idea of receiving real mail from people all over the world. It is a bit like a message in a bottle thrown in the sea, like my children used to do. And it is a bit like geocaching, strangers make/do something really nice for others and you can enjoy it whenever you want and return the favour to someone else. I like to find a suitable card for the person who's name I received. And I love it when the receiver marks my card as favourite when I sent him/her a special one. When I love a card I receive, I favourite it.

I hope to receive (but will be glad for anything):
Top of this list is most loved. :)

A photograph of your street (out of your window for example) or house, taken by you or on an official postcard, I'd love to see different streets around the world.
cards with birds on it (preferably painted/drawn),
old real vintage cards ('50's, '60's or '70's),
science cards,
sand samples (would be nice, but i think it will be difficult to send, would love to see the customs people try to establish what it is),
Artistic handmade (but not 3D with the foamcushions) cards,
Cards with a single tree on it,
Cards with bicycles (the Dutch have got plenty of Dutch bicycle cards, now I would like some foreign ones ;))
corny cards,
Optical illusions cards,
original krtek cards since my kids loved him so much when they where little,
Pictures of heartshaped things (a while ago I had minor surgery on my heart, they closed a congenital hole in it, I still have an uncomfortable arythmia),
For the Belgians or Dutch: cards with sinterklaas on it (would be real cool if it could be a vintage one),
funny cards,
or any of the beforementioned with your own adjustments to the scene...

I like it when people have a lot of preferences so i can find them a right card, but, like i said before, i will be glad with anything, so this is a preference list, not a 'must'.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will send me a card!

Bye for now,
Nynke

I got a postcard without ID from Lea aus Grainau in Deutschland, bitte e-mail mich das ID. Es ist die erste postkarte von Sie.

I got a postcard without ID or name on it from Ukraine, someone who visited Dresden and bought the card there. The card has two cute angels on it.
