About MarievBilk...

Learned from a friend about this website and found it exiting to get in contact with people from other countries. I would love to read about you, your country, your traditions, your literature - which book is your favorite, what kind of art or meal, what is your most favorite "to do" of the day? - I would love to receive recipes (for cakes or life ;-))),ideas,philosophies etc. ..... What did you read in the newspaper today and did it make you happy or angry...?
I really would love to receive very short, small "stories..." if you'd like to write one. But, of course, only an option...
After studying languages I have worked as a bookseller and editor (still love it very much!) and I am now working as an exec. secretary, "press officer" and project manager. My hobbies are writing for www.einseitig.info (Webmagazine), we as well publish very nice books, by the way ... painting, singing (Chansons), Jazzzzz, cultural activities in general, soccer (Fortuna Düsseldorf, Turu 1880), photography (esp. portraits), cinema and films (esp. the black and white ones from the 20ies to the 40ies and my beloved family (two grown up kids and a husband). I like travelling very much, although I am a real coward when I have to take an airplane... but I try to be heroic everytime ;-))))
I like cafés, some of my favorites are Les Halles in Düsseldorf, Café Sehnsucht in Cologne, Café Paris in Hamburg and Papeneiland in Amsterdam. Love to spend hours there... and money... ;-))
I am an enthusiastic book maniac and love to go to book markets like Düsseldorfer Büchermeile, Breedevoort Boekenstadt, Langenberg Bücherstadt or antique markets. Well, our home is full of books accordingly ;-))... I definitely need more time to read more! And I am definitely looking forward reading your postcards!

Favorite postcards: black and white postcards, people, portraits, landscape, traditional and vintage motifs (20ies, 30ies, 40ies, 50ies,60ies)... I LOVE the 20ies, postcards showing nice and cosy restaurants or cafés, funny or crazy motifs, yessss selfmade is welcome, be creative! Have a look at my favourites ;-)....
I don't prefer animals, comics, cartoons, flowers that much... but who knows... just surprise me! Please don't send any advertising or ad cards. Thanks! By the way, I won't buy anything at all!
