My name is Melissa and I'm a 30-something year old female from Michigan, United States! I just moved 3,100 miles (5,005 kilometers) away from home to Boston to begin a fellowship with Harvard Medical School! Living in the big city is a huge change from my small town!

My hobbies are traveling, learning Spanish, watching Star Trek, reading novels with strong female characters and cooking vegetarian food. My favorite place is the local library and I try to read at least four or five books each month. My favorite books are Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the Infinite Plan by Isabel Allende, Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo and 1984 by George Orwell.

I love all types of postcards and have quite the collection from my travels. My favorite postcards are historical buildings, landscapes, and art but I especially love postcards about national costumes, foods & recipes, or dancing.
