About Krista...
I'm a 24-year-old animal shelter volunteer living near Finland's capital with my seven cats, two guinea pigs, two chinchillas, a giant bunny and a whippet. Since July 2007 I have also been helping a Finnish organisation that brings stray dogs to Finland from Spain, where 40 dogs are cruelly mistreated and abandoned every hour of every single day. My spare time is spent being outdoors, studying languages, reading, drawing, photographing and console gaming.
As for the languages go, I’ve studied Japanese a while ago so might remember some basics. Spanish is my latest and a language I’ve picked up quite well, so if you’re a native speaker, I’d love some practise.
I’ve been collecting cow cards and animal themed stamps for as long as I can remember so those would be more than greatly appreciated – though of course not required. :) Postcrossing has also made it possible to start collecting cards picturing manatees, the sea cows which stole my heart way back.
In addition to these main species wildlife in general is my thing and so I’d also like muskoxen, yaks, buffalos and other bovines, sighthounds, armadillos, pangolins, bats, chinchillas, flying squirrels, gliders, opossums, possums and other small marsupials, guinea pigs, capybaras, fennec foxes, tortoises, belugas and white wild felines. My miscellaneous wishlist includes such impossibilities as Miyazaki’s movies, Fantasia & Fantasia 2000, Robert Knepper, Zhang Ziyi, console games and Emily the Strange.
Now, these are only some of the many things I love in life and although I myself enjoy trying to fulfil wishes others have, I don’t expect everyone else to feel or be able to do the same so all cards will naturally be very welcome here. :)
A part of my collection, all cards received via postcrossing are online here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kivutar and by clicking “tags” on the main page you can browse them by themes and find all cows, manatees, armadillos, bats etc. neatly arranged. :) My favourite stamps that came with these are uploaded here http://www.flickr.com/photos/kivuttaren
