About Shalva...

For my profession I'm a nurse. In my off time hours, I am a weaver, but I also love to knit, cross stitch, make lace by tatting and using bobbins. Right now my main love is to weave and I do that pretty much exclusively.

I am a life long reader and love books in all forms, but never abridged as I think an author uses the number of words and pages a story needs. Right now because I weave as much as I read, most of my books are listened to as audible books. I love many genres, though mystery/thriller, espionage are my favorites. But if a book is good, the genre really is not important. I average about 100 books a year.

I also love to travel and do so when I can. I've been fortunate to have lived in more places than most, several different states in the US as well as Germany and Israel.

I dabble with Photography, though it is very much a part time hobby. I love to do close ups and play with long shutter speeds. I have even won a few ribbons in local photography contests!

I am of an age in which I remember a world without the internet or email. Getting handwritten letters was the only way to really communicate across long distances because even a phone call was too expensive except for special occasions. I remember getting postcards from friends and family who travelled and that was always so much fun to find in the mail. I look forward to sending and receiving postcards from anywhere there is a postal system!

I don't think I have any particular interests in types of postcards, so let your imagination take you where it will. Postcards can say as much about the person sending the card as of the place or subject it depicts. Have fun with your choice and if you'd like, you can tell me why you chose the postcard you send.

I do think though, that I would prefer a postcard not in an envelope, the postage and cancellation marks from different places will add character as well as make the story of the card much more unique and interesting. Do, please, date your card if you would be so kind. I know that sometimes the postmark can get smudged a bit. Thank you!

I have been reading up on this whole Touchnote thing and it seems that my address would have to be given to a third party. I think I would prefer to not have that happen, I already get enough junk mail, and would prefer not to encourage that. Thank you for understanding!
