About Chris...

Hey y'all, dear fellow Postcrossers,

I'm a 21-year-old medical student who is interested in foreign cultures and minds. In my leisure time I use to take exercise, to play the piano and to sing in a choir.
Now I've been a member of this project for over a year and I'm still enjoying it a good deal. It provides me a sound diversion from my studies and brings the wide world straight into my postbox.

I'm obsessive with England (its culture and its sights) and even more with British literature (the Brontë sisters, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens).

No idea what to send me? Here are some of my preferences, yet not ranked:

a) a photo taken by yourself (it's often much more telling than any bought card)
b) a landscape/features of a foreign country
c) music, pictures of my favourite bands: RHCP, Foo Fighters, Green Day and alternative-rock in general
d) anything related to Greece
e) snowy scenes (but no Christmas cards )
f) a townscape (either current views or - with real pleasure! - historic engravings, furthermore cards with skyscrapers, castles or beaches), I particularly like SINGLEVIEW postcards (!!!)
g) medical themed cards (hospitals, anatomy features... you cannot shock me anymore!)
h) maps (e.g. U.S. federal states, maybe in company with state flower/bird - this would be really great!)
The following maps have already joined my collection: Massachusetts, Florida, New York State, Wisconsin, California, Ohio, Utah, Illinois, Texas, Virginia
i) my favourite animals: elephants, koalas, owls and hedgehogs
j) paintings by famous artists (to all senders from the Netherlands: Could you please, please choose art cards with paintings by Vermeer, Rembrandt van Rijn or any other painter of the Dutch Golden Age? I adore this style!)
k) needless to say: anything you would like to receive yourself

I will appreciate anything you choose to send, but please - as dear Eosiukas from Lithuania has put it so nicely - send it with spirit.

En als je toevallig uit Nederland of België komt, kan je de kaartje graag in jouw moedertaal schrijven. Het doet mij echt plezier om een kaart in Nederlands te krijgen.

If possible, you should forgo religious, computer-designed or ad cards (except they are outstandingly beautiful). Please don't put them into an envelope.

Looking forward to being overwhelmed by your floods of mail soon^^.

Best regards, Chris

P.S.: Aus Deutschland würde ich mich sehr über Chronikkarten von Schöning freuen.
(siehe hier: http://www.postcrossing.com/postcards/DE-672650).

P.P.S.: I gladly accept PRIVATE SWAPS with people who are reliable. So if you want to swap cards with me (especially when you come from the Netherlands or the U.K., but actually every country is welcomed), feel free to contact me!
