About Ilona...
I am a native Dutch living in Barcelona with my Georgian partner where I´m working at a translation office.
I love listening to music. I also enjoy running at the beach, which I should really do more often :)
I enjoy studying cultures and languages and I am always very happy to read some words in your language!:) If it is up to me, I will travel all around the world to see all the beauty of the nature, cultures and languages that is to be found.
Furtherly, I am a Clinical- and Developmental psychologist. I studied at the University of Groningen (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) and the University of Valencia. I worked in the University Medical Hospital in Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands with children affected by arthritis. In the future, I would like to continue working with children within a medical setting or help children in war abroad, for example by working for the Red Cross or War Child.
I like almost all cards, but most of all I like cards that tell me something about your country. I like receiving for example views of your country or city, the landscape, a famous building or something cultural. I appreciate it a lot when you write me in your language, and, if possible (and still some space on the card), translate it. I also enjoy reading about things that are typical for your country, for example traditions/feasts but also the climate etc. I enjoy nice stamps too.
Just a last few special wishes. If you are from one of the Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway), I like postcards with the Moomins. For German writers, I am also a fan of postcards with Mainzelmännchen. If you are from England, I am a fan of Paddington. For America, I like Sarah Kay as well.
As I am from the Netherlands myself, I prefer no touristic cards of mills, tulips and wooden shoes (although I do like views from your region or city). I also enjoy receiving postcards from Barbapapa or Nijntje.
Finally, I like cards that are handwritten and stamped.
Please note that I´m not a fan of ad-cards, text-only cards, or pictures from yourself.
Thank you for your card!
