Hi,

I am very sad because of the Russian invasion of a free and independent nation. My thoughts are with the Ukrainians that fall victim to Russian imperialism. My heart is also with the Russians who don't want this bloodshed and are horrified by what is happening in their name. It must be terrible to see how innocent women and children are being bombarded and are dying in the most horrible ways. This terrible war was not provoked. There was no intention to attack Russia.

My name is Corno and I'm a history teacher in the beautiful historic city of Utrecht. I feel very privileged to be able to cycle through ages of history everyday on my way to school.

I love traveling. I like to go places in person but also in my imagination through literature, art, exotic food and drinks and the people I meet. My favorite destinations are historic cities packed with art and monuments like Rome, Paris and Berlin. Fortunately my work allows me to visit these cities regularly and I know them quite well.

As a child I collected stamps and coins from countries all over the world. For hours I could go through my collections and wonder about the places and countries the items came from. For me postcrossing is like collecting little mindtravels.

I am very curious about what you want to tell me. Maybe you'd like to share your ideas about current affairs with me or something about a book you just read or a beautiful painting you just saw. Did something or someone surprise you today? Why did you pick this postcard for me?

I like many kinds of cards, surprise me! I like to laugh, so if you manage to do that with a postcard, that would make me very happy. I am also very fond of beautiful men and other pieces of art. If you want to send me something to do with history then I prefer historic photographs or single historic objects and archeology instead of cityviews or historic buildings.

I upload all the cards I receive and give the stamps to my mother who collects them. So, if you have special edition stamps I would be very grateful.
