I'm a British girl living in Calgary. Biology graduate.

In a world where e-mail feels like it dominates our communication, I love to write letters, journals and postcards. It's a pretty awesome feeling when a postcard or a letter from somewhere else in the world lands in your mailbox.

Requests: Nothing specific. Feel free to write something inspirational, a quotation, something about yourself, your country or culture. What makes you happy. I love anything from scenic, nature or city, skylines, buildings and cultural postcards to artsy, homemade and abstract. Buddhist temples and shrines, churches. Colourful, black and white or sepia. Hello Kitty and Moomins are very cute! I adore whales (blue, humpback, beluga etc), tigers, pandas, sharks, snow leopards and orcas. I volunteer at a pet shelter, so any cats or dogs to brighten my day are appreciated. Feel free to surprise me as every card is valued.

Travel - exploring new cities, the thrill of the journey, discovering and absorbing new cultures.

Photography. Reading. Writing. I started blogging in February, it's a fantastic way to connect with people and a great creative outlet.

Biology. Psychology. Visiting museums, aquariums, art galleries and exhibitions. Conversation and coffee shops. Sharing opinions, debating big questions and getting philosophical in the early hours of the morning. Going on long walks and evening runs. Ice and inline skating. Shopping. Languages. The ocean and breath-taking landscapes. The Great Outdoors. Hanging around in bookstores and libraries.
Artistic, crafty and creative things. I love keeping myself busy with personal projects and assignments.
Dance lessons, kayaking, tennis, horse riding - are hobbies I should really take up again when I find time. I would love to try skiing.

I love to broaden my horizons and try new activities. Social butterfly - I love meeting people and making new friends (online and offline). But conversely I love having my own space to think and relax every so often. Tendency to think in an idealistic manner at times. I love being asked thought provoking questions and talking with positive, compassionate, smart and open-minded people.

Music - I wish I could play the piano. I will listen to absolutely everything but I particularly enjoy Anberlin, Imogen Heap, Michael Bublé, New Found Glory, Røykssop and Ellie Goulding.

I would chose an independent or foreign film over a Hollywood blockbuster any day of the week.
