About the Postcrosser
Hello! I'm Brigi, a 24 years old Hungarian girl. I'm a PhD student in English Literature and I translate novels to Hungarian. I freakin' love books. :)
I love reading, my cat Monty, music (at the moment, my favourites are the Kaiser Chiefs), penpalling, watching films and TV series (Sherlock, Castle, Kingdom, Northern Exposure, TBBT, Road to Avonlea), learning about new cultures, meeting my friends, drinking tea etc. A few random things I love (maybe we have something in common?): libraries, parks and gardens, Harry Potter, laugh lines, berries, everything purple/violet, BBC's "Pride & Prejudice" [I'm a huge Jane Austen fan], graphology, crime fiction, lavender, "Anne of Green Gables", chocolate, windows, P.G. Wodehouse, Yorkshire, gender studies, hedgehogs and squirrels, water, Regency/Victorian England, Beatrix Potter, birds, James Bond, letters, Jan Vermeer, moose, London, cats, comedy, mad pianists Jamie Cullum and Tim Minchin, simple joys in life, stationery, British humour, novels, Monty Python, black & blue. And I adore Stephen Fry and Colin Firth. Oh.
My Mum is a Postcrosser too: http://www.postcrossing.com/user/Icu
I noticed that many of you are on Bookcrossing as well. Did you know that there is a Hungarian version of this project since 2008? It is called Lose a book! [Veszíts el egy könyvet!] and it's organized by the Orosháza Public Library. You can read their English blog here: http://doit.justhvk.hu/ (I'm a contributor too.)
We would be happy to hear from you.
About the Postcards
I quite like typical "touristy" postcards, and also seasons greetings [at any time of the year], cards about art, handmade cards, food/drinks, animals or nature in general. I have just discovered Inge Löök's "old ladies" postcards, and I would be absolutely delighted to receive one. But anyway, I'm not picky at all. I don't mind what sort of postcard I receive or whether you put real stamps or those metered stickers on it. I'm happy for every card I receive and I'm even happier if you tell me something about yourself - what is your hobby, whether you have a pet, or what is your favourite book, song or film.
If you are interested in a direct swap, you can find my cards for trade here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/achtungbrigi/sets/
Thank you for all the wonderful postcards I have received so far! And even bigger thanks for all those wonderful people whom I met here. Postcrossing is one of the wonders in my life.
Happy Postcrossing!
