Hello y'all! I'm a British expat who has lived in Birmingham, Alabama for many years now. My interests include photography, my Holga, traveling, hiking, swimming, Fringe, Top Gear, rock/alternative music & giant pandas (I hope to visit Chengdu and Bifengxia, China in 2012). I love exploring Alabama, hanging out with my friends and the great weather here in the Deep South.
Snail mail brightens my day and I enjoy the snapshot of life that postcrossing provides, so please write something even if it is simply about the weather (I'm English after all), your favourite sports team (Sunderland AFC is my football team), or a dream. All postcards are welcome, but if you need inspiration I really love postcards with the following themes:
* city views
* architecture (religious, famous, unusual, lighthouses, gargoyles and spiral motifs)
* beautiful landscapes (esp. waterfalls and caves)
* Americana
* Soviet era
* British related (incl. humour, pubs, funny signposts and Banksy)
* vintage transportation
* camping & caravans
* maps
* giant pandas (any but not from the US Zoos)
* jellyfish & seahorses
* dancers (ballet, flamenco, folk and swing)
* traditional costumes, geisha & quirky fashion
* Royal Families
* Angry Birds, Bunny Suicides & Kiroileva siili
* sculptures & urban street art
* Modigliani & Monet, Klimt & Kahlo
* Aboriginal, Maori, or Native American art
* paintings or photographs by a famous artist or rising star in your country
* something unique about your hometown or country.
I prefer not to receive Ad cards or free cards, but if you have something touristy, vintage, Coca-Cola related or art-related (see my favourites) then that would be cool.
*My only real request though - NO folded greeting cards, hand-made cards or self-printed photos. Thank you for respecting my wishes with regards to these.
PS Postcards are registered on the day I receive so if I have not registered your card the mailman has not yet delivered it.
