“send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world!”

Twitter, stats and more

We have been quite busy lately with tweaks and improvements to Postcrossing! Here are some of the things we are excited about:

Twitter integration
If you have a twitter.com account, this feature is for you! Postcrossing can now automatically publish your events (for instance, when you send or register a postcard) to your twitter stream. And it's really easy to setup!
More stats
Do you like statistics? We have been improving these, adding more graphics and information to the stats page. Let us know what else you would like to see in there.
Improved invite friends
Have many friends that might like Postcrossing? Too hard to remember all of their cryptic email addresses? No problem! Now it's much simpler to invite friends in Postcrossing because you can import your contacts from your Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and MSN accounts easily. We have used the latest technology available to make it really safe, so you don't have to give us your email account username and password. Give it a try to see what we mean.
And many more to come! We know you have suggestions for changes and improvements for the project and we'd love to hear them - while we can't promise to do all of them, we will certainly look into it so give us a shout!

I love the new graphics! :) And the new bar at the bottom of the page is very useful, thank you!

Wow! Lots of new users from China in the last 30 days! Watch out Finland... China might be poised to usurp your "most postcards sent" crown :-) Stats are fun. I know I love to see the graph that shows the number of postcards sent by month.... such big growth! What a fabulous project! Off to see how the Twitter works....

Wow, thanks for uploading the newest version of Postcrossing =)
Btw, I found a little bug on the stats page: the first link of users is linked to "postcard", but the second link is ok.
Keep going, this site is great :)

I'm finding it hard to keep up with all these improvements and upgrades! I would just like to say Thank you to Paulo, Ana and the Postcrossing team, for the fantastic project which has shrunk the world to a tiny size. We can all reach out and almost touch each other across the world, thanks to you! I'm just one member of a huge family who has made many many friends already and will make many more. Congratulations and well done, we are all very proud of you.

Anyone else having trouble adding their Twitter account?

I have filled in twitter username and password and ticked the box publish to my twitter account and clicked save and this is what it says,

"Oops! Seems there's some problem with your data. Please check below and try again." I check below and it says this,

"We need your twitter password if you want us to publish to your twitter account."

Yet, I have done all that it has asked. Anyone have any ideas or is this feature broken at the moment?

@ladyroxanne: The feature is working, I've just tried myself. You might be entering the wrong username/password combination?

Are we allowed to copy and paste our own User statistics? e.g. in a blog?
