About xw...

I am a 19 year old girl living on a small English island. I love reading, history and traveling. The type of postcards I particularly like are:

- Landmarks and famous places, culture/tradition, history, literature, nature, anything to do with your country
- Flags (and U.S States)
- Native people (particularly of the Americas and Siberia, but all are welcome)
- Cartoons (e.g. Masha and the Bear, Cheburashka (and other USSR cartoons), Moomins, Disney, Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, other Sanrio characters - others and generic cartoons are good too!)
- Royalty and politicians (humourous or otherwise, dead or alive)
- USSR (propaganda, leaders, cosmonauts, etc)
- Nuclear science and engineering
- Abandoned cities/places (Pripyat, San Zhi, Spreepark, Machu Picchu, Klomino, etc)
- Breakaway territories (Transnistria, South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia, etc)
- Black and white
- Vintage
- Strange photographs/pictures
- Ballet and classical music (all)

Some of these will be more difficult to obtain than others. If you cannot find any of these, anything you like is fine.

Write to me about anything - tell me about the postcard, your day, your interests, your favourite book (recommendations are always welcome), or teach me something.

I study Italian at school, so if you speak the language, please write in it! I am also hoping to go to University in September 2013 to learn Russian, and I am also interested in Polish, Ukrainian and Belarusian. My knowledge of these languages is very basic so please provide translations into English.(Any other languages, please write a sentence or phrase and translate it into English).

I prefer cards without an envelope if possible, but I would be happy to receive cards in handmade envelopes if you make them.

I'm happy to receive handmade cards, birthday/Christmas/other holiday cards (even if I don't celebrate the holiday), 3D cards, shaped or oversized cards.
