wittywats

Hello, I'm Anna. I live with my husband and our two gray cats, Orion and Aurora, in a cozy apartment in the northeastern US state of Massachusetts. (My name, wittywats, is a reference in general to my love of felines, but also specifically to Orion and Aurora's "elder brothers," Ananda and Sid, our previous beloved kitties, who were known as the wittywats.) We have a small porch and a little flower garden with a home-made toad house in it, and we like walking from our home to the woods and to a trolley. I'm in my 40s and was born right here in Massachusetts. I work with children with autism and other disabilities in my career as a speech-language pathologist.

I love spending time in nature, reading, interacting with pets of all kinds, arts & crafts (I especially love receiving handmade postcards of all kinds!), yoga, board games, world music & dance, tea and meaningful conversation. I'm a vegetarian who enjoys cooking healthy food. Some of my favorite things to think and talk about are: science, education, creativity, funny animal memes, organization, cats, vegan baking, amusing things children have said, stories about acts of kindness, recycling and upcycling, Eastern philosophy, knitting, smoothies, bento lunches, simple living, and fairy gardening. I like to watch Stranger Things and The X Files (and look away during any very violent parts). I speak and understand a bit of French but am not fluent.

I lived in Tokyo, Japan for a short time at the age of 10, and in Cork City, Ireland for a short time at the age of 20. I have traveled to many U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii; and internationally to Switzerland, France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Mexico, Canada, and Great Britain.
