About Courtney...

Greetings from Reno, Nevada, USA! My name is Courtney. In short, I'm an American female 20-something with a curious mind, an insatiable wanderlust, and seven cats.

I have called Reno my home for most of my life. I love to travel though. I feel like I'm constantly packing up my suitcase and going on another adventure. Most of my journeys have been within the United States, but it's a big country so I've accumulated a lot of miles. My international travel experience is-- limited. I visited Mexico as a child and stayed in the United Kingdom for a few months when I was 19-years-old. My extended stay in England is what drove my initial desire to seek out a project such as Postcrossing. Now, it's one of my most beloved hobbies.

Over the past couple of years, my little American perspective of the world has been greatly broadened. Through Postcrossing, I have made some incredible friendships with people thousands of miles away that I otherwise would never have known.

I currently work as a warehouse clerk at a book distribution center. When I'm at home, I enjoy learning about interesting new things, scribbling in my journal, hanging out with my cats, eating chocolate, exploring new places around my city, listening to various types of music, drinking chai lattes, exercising, and complaining about exercising. I wish I spent more time studying, dancing, and figuring out how to style my hair instead of putting it up in a bun all the time.

I have lots of interests that don't seem to have much in common with each other: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Doctor Who, nature documentaries, the vastness of the universe, organizing, foreign languages, wandering aimlessly around new places, Christmas lights, window shop displays, fashion magazines, hydrangeas, and watching American football. The Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders are my favorite teams.

I have no preference concerning what cards I would like to receive. I find the mystery of it all to be exciting! Have fun with it! My younger brother, Brandon, is an avid car spotter. He would love it if I received postcards with supercars (e.g. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, etc). I always appreciate it when my postcards have a story to share. I enjoy reading about your thoughts, your interests, your region, your weather, or whatever! No need to be shy. Birthday cards in July would be extra special. I am grateful for every postcard I receive and always promptly register them.

My first (and most proficient) language is English. I have a basic knowledge of Dutch, French, German, and Spanish. If you feel more comfortable expressing yourself in one of these languages, then please do so. I'm always eager to enhance my vocabulary and I enjoy the challenge.

If you actually read all of that, I commend you! Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
Best wishes and Happy Postcrossing!
