About Tonia...

About Me: I'm 43 years old. I'm currently working towards my Masters Degree in English (literature, history, and philosophy), at the State University of New York at Albany. I would enjoy postcards relative to your culture and area/location, but anything would be great. Maybe include a few greeting words in your own language with their meaning or a favorite recipe or favorite book.

I live for standing up for what I believe in (animal rights, humanities, international issues, etc.), family, friends, my dogs and all animals and nature, food/cooking (one of my hobbies), gardening, dark chocolate, the ocean, fall and winter, Cape Cod, french toast and blueberry pancakes, collecting books and reading, wine, music and world music, crossword puzzles, practicing yoga, writing, academics, and the outdoors to name a few things off the top of my head.

Favorite TV Shows: True Blood, Californication, United States of Tara, Dexter, Millenium, all time favorite the X-files, Dr. Who, Torchwood, Being Human UK, the Fades, crime, supernatural, mystery, anything British/BBC/UK (period pieces or contemporary), political, historical, and environmental documentaries. I hate reality TV.

Favorite Movies: All Time Fav is When Harry Met Sally, love Pan's Labyrinth, Old Boy, City of God. I prefer independent and foreign movies, criminal, suspense, horror, thought-provoking stuff, especially relative to foreign movies, and again, anything British/BBC/UK (period pieces or contemporary).

Favorite Books: Caribbean lit, African lit, British/UK lit, philosophy, 19th century British/UK lit, 19th century German lit, 19th century American lit, Jane Eyre, any Edith Wharton, Jane Austen, any Stephen King book, Latin and World Literature, pretty much all books, historical, plus I have this weird cookbook obsession.

I study 19th century British/UK and American Literature (and philosophy) and also Caribbean literature.
