About Alex...

Hello, I'm Alex! I'm a university student studying International Politics and Data Science with a minor in Arabic Language Studies. I grew up in the city of Boston and I now attend one of our many universities. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures, especially in the Middle East/Levant where I find most people to be very warm and welcoming. Eventually I'm planning on moving to Berlin, I lived there for a while and feel like it's the perfect city for me :)

About Me:
* My favorite hobby is going to vintage/antique markets and gathering weird things to decorate my apartment with or to wear
* I'm a DJ at my university radio station and my show specializes in music in other languages! If you could recommend me a song (especially if it's in your native language) I might play it during my show. I like indie, alt-rock, 80s, post-punk, and electronic music (my show's mega-playlist is linked above)
* I enjoy learning about typography & different types of handwriting (Kurrentschrift, Ruqa'a and Kufic Calligraphy).
* I'm also a photographer and I love using 35mm film! it's nice to take photos and completely forget about them until you get the film developed and remember

I'm fine with pretty much anything, even ad cards. I also enjoy letters if you're feeling like writing one!
Some recommendations for postcard covers are:

* Tourist-y postcards
* Interesting architecture, buildings, parks, or landscapes
* Maps (Metro too!)
* Trains, subways, etc
* Vintage ad campaigns / Propaganda / WPA art
* Cool Typefaces/Fonts/Designs
* Contemporary or abstract art
* UNESCO
* Ortsschild-Postkarten
* Anything you think would look good pinned on a wall :)
Happy Postcrossing!

You can write about anything, but if you're having trouble thinking of what to write, tell me about a place in your area (cafe, museum, park, etc.) where you like to spend free time and why you like it there! Or write about a weird place with few visitors that you think more people should go to.

If you speak one of the languages I speak, it would be great if you could write in that language (German, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic). Even if I don't understand it 100%, It's still good practice to go through and translate what I don't know.

إذا تتكلم اللغة العربية فاكتب لي بِها! احتاج أكبر قدر ممكن من التدريب عليها
(: بَلكي نحنا يمكننا أيضاََ نتراسل بِها
