My name is Kat, and until I can find a school willing to take a chance on a brand-new teacher and give me my very own classroom, I'm working as an instructional assistant in a high school English class for students performing below grade level.

I like owls and octopuses, warm earthy colors, and the Spanish language. I'll be honest: it bugs me quite a bit when people put down specifications as to what cards they want to receive, so I'm not going to do that. Send me something you like, or something you picked up on vacation, or the very last scraggly postcard in your collection before you go out and buy some more. Because the important part isn't the picture on the postcard: it's the fact that someone has taken the time to address it and drop it in the mail.

What really matters to me is what's on the back. Tell me a story about where you got the card. Tell me about your favorite word. Tell me how you met your best friend or your significant other, or about the dream you had last night or your dearest wish or your favorite quotation or your favorite poem. Or, if you're low on time, just write "hi" or scratch out a quick doodle. That's fine too. :)

Note: I'm open to small direct swaps, like blank postcards and stickers and other small things. :)
