About Stanley...
I have lived in Chicago, USA for 10+ years. Though I am originally from Iowa and Nebraska, I have also lived in California, the UK and Finland. I have traveled all over Europe. And still have hopes to see the rest of the world too. Until I accomplish that, I will have to depend on you to show me your corner of the world.
I love stamps! I have learned so many new ideas, and of many people after researching the information found on stamps.
Receiving mail is a very special blessing. Especially in these days of instant communication through the internet. It is so nice to open my mailbox after a long day at work and find a nice bit of someone's soul in with my bills and adverts. I say "someone's soul" because a postcard comes from an actual, living, breathing person who has made many decisions in order for this special mail to be in my hands-- decisions like which image to send, what kind of stamps to put on it, and what to say! I would dare say that the mail that I hold in my hands is an original, one of a kind. Made especially for me!
That's how I try to approach the mail I send as well.
I like receiving all kinds of postcards, but the ideas and images that interest me most are:
*landmarks, buildings or maps of your town or country
*nature - photographs or illustrations
*anything with snow
*animals - cats, horses, mules, dogs, cows, birds-- anything
*painting, sculpture, architecture, graphic design, books and authors, photography, music, geography and maps
*colors, textures, movement, sounds, shapes
*words - in all languages-even if I don't know the meaning, I can enjoy the beauty of the script
Thank you, Postcrossing, for the great opportunity to share life and meaning with others from around the world!
