I am a retired teacher of English as a second language, Born outside New York City in 1952, grew up on Long Island. Interested in Ultimate Frisbee, Reggae music, Buddhism, Sufism, nature writing and bird watching. I’m a practicing Catholic Christian interested in cross cultural communication. For most of my life, I’ve lived in Minneapolis, City of Lakes and the Mississippi River. I’ve also lived in Sweden & Israel. I taught for one year in Harbin, China & lived 5 years in Brooklyn, New York. I like castles, lighthouses, historic places, geographic oddities, Ocean islands, famous writers, Harry Potter, Sufis, Catholic & Orthodox saints , temples, mosques, cathedrals, JRR Tolkien’s work, film makers Like Steven Spielberg, Sergei Eisenstein, Satyajit Ray, Alfred Hitchcock, Ingmar Bergman, and Akira Kurosawa. I like well-known historic humanitarian people & religious figures ➖ such as Martin Luther King, Dorothy Day, Albert Schweitzer, the Dalai Lama , Lev Tolstoy and Desmond Tutu👍 , reggae artists and especially birds. I’m a great reader of fiction, poetry, biography and history. I enjoy western classical music as well as Indian, Chinese, & Gamelan traditional music. Also I’m a big science-fiction fan (Star Wars, the Mandalorian, Star Trek) and like writers Philip K, Dick, Robert Heinlein, Ursula Le Guin, and Octavia E Butler, as well. I’m an avid film watcher of international movies.
