About Erin...

Hello!
I signed up for Post Crossing because I love getting mail. I also love a good mystery - the fact that you never know what's coming is my favorite part. I will be thrilled with absolutely anything you send, especially if you take the time to write a message.

About me:

- My name is Erin

- I am 40

- I just had a baby! My ancient carcass did it. We have a brand new beautiful baby girl named Ellie. Talk about a surprise.

- I spent 13 years at a desk doing GIS (making maps) in Fort Collins, Colorado. Eventually I snapped due to sheer boredom and bought a nearly 100 year old fishing resort in the middle of nowhere in northern Wisconsin. I sold my house and moved halfway across the country with no business experience. The funny part is we are doing great.

- Running a resort is not nearly as fun as it sounds. We are in our 5th year and have yet to find any reliable help. Our lives SUCK from May to October. We work 24/7. It will be interesting to see what happens now that we have a baby. I honestly have no idea what we are going to do.

- I am a dog person. I had the two best dogs ever, but both died of cancer. We now have Fred, a trouble making mutt who has brought some much needed laughter and life back into our home!

- Back when I used to have time to do stuff, I loved driving around looking for wildlife (especially bears), kayaking, traveling around in our motorhome, metal detecting, geocaching....just about anything outdoors.

Thank you for reading all this and Happy Post Crossing!

I saw this on another Post Crosser's profile and thought it was pretty nice:
FRIENDSHIP

IT'S RATHER WONDERFUL I THINK
WHEN FRIENDS ARE MADE FROM PEN AND INK.
A PIECE OF PAPER, BLUE OR WHITE,
SOMEONE DECIDES THAT THEY WILL WRITE,
TO SOMEONE THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN,
WHO LIVES WHERE THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN.
A PEN BECOMES A MAGIC WAND,
TWO STRANGERS START TO CORRESPOND,
NOT STRANGERS LONG, BUT SOON GOOD FRIENDS,
JUST NOTE HOW THEIR LAST LETTER ENDS.
HOW PLEASANT THEIR EXCHANGE OF VIEWS,
THE COMMENTS ON IMPORTANT NEWS.
TWO FRIENDS WHO LIVE QUITE FAR APART,
CAN GLADDEN MUCH EACH OTHER'S MIND
WITH LOVELY THOUGHTS IN LETTERS KIND.
IT'S TRULY BEAUTIFUL, I THINK
THE FRIENDSHIP SPRUNG FROM PEN AND INK.
