My name is Paula. I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and moved to Chicago, Illinois 20 years ago. I'm a physician, and I have two little boys, ages 3 and 8. My wish is to be able to travel the world, but as of right now I'm needed at home with the kiddies. One day, I will take them to see the world and climb Mount Kilimanjaro. In my spare time, I like to read (currently Haruki Murakami is my favorite author), watch foreign films, scrapbook my life and family history, and play "Just Dance" on my Wii.
I like postcards with beautiful nature or important landmark of the place you live in. Please no multi-view - I don't want to look through the magnifying glass. Also, please send regular-shaped postcards without an envelope, as I am keeping them in an album. I also like to receive any Japanese-themed cards (especially Studio Ghibli cartoons, I LOVE Totoro!), geisha, artsy cards, black and white cards, movie posters, actors/actresses (especially Marilyn Monroe), babies/kids, lovers, cartoons, yoga/exercise themed, holiday cards and birthday cards on my birthday.

Rather then write "happy postcrossing" here are some other ideas:

-write your secret (I won't tell anyone you know)
-why are you happy or sad today?
-what is your favorite restaurant in your hometown (or a restaurant where you would love to eat one day if you had the money)
-brag about your kids (baby started walking? nominated for a Nobel Peace prize?)
-draw a picture or have your kid draw one for me
-share your wisdom if you have a special needs kid
-favorite recipes are always welcome!
-favorite show to watch on TV
-funny joke
-what do you want to be when you grow up (or wanted to be but it never happened, and why)
