About Pat...

Hi -
Today (14/10/2020) I received a card that was the 100th sent or received!!!!
I am a 68 y/o retired pharmacist. I started Postcrossing after it was mentioned in one of my stamp collecting magazines. I am now hooked. I love watching the mail each day to see if a new card has arrived. Other than my family, my passions are live theater (I see about 50 live performances a year), astronomy (for a number of years I participated in a series of on-line college courses hosted by Swinburne University in Australia), birding (everywhere I travel, my binoculars and a field guide accompany me), stamp collecting (my collection is engraved stamps from the British Caribbean), geology (I must have been a vulcanologist in another life), and hiking (which gets me in the out-of-doors and complements my birding).

Postcards I enjoy:

Unique Scenery
Astronomy-Planets-Planetariums-Telescopes-Starry Skies
Anything related to Volcanoes
Local Wildlife - Birds - Flowers - Mammals (No insects, please)
Anything to do with Theater
Funny Cards
Historic Buildings
Classic Cards/Black&White
From Germany, Gerhard Glueck cards.
Pictures that record historical events.
Whatever you are passionate about

There is a new series of National Birds, Flowers, Flags and Mammals. I really like them
So far I have
National Birds- Finland, Germany, The Netherlands
National Flower - Finland, Germany
Poland has begun a Fauna of Poland that I would enjoy adding to my collection. So far I have the White-Tailed Eagle

Some of you have indicated that you collect coins. If you are interested in receiving US State or National Park Quarters, I have some that I would be willing to share. Just let me know and I can send you the list of what I have.

Note to Postcrossers from Belarus. I really love the Fauna and Flora series. As I have received one duplicate already, thought I should list what is currently in my collection: Aquatic Warbler, Black Grouse, Black Headed Gull, Black Stork, Black-Tailed Godwit, Bluethrot, Blue Tit, Brown Bear (Adult and Cub), Bullfinch, Capercaillie, Collared Dove, Crane, Crane family, Common Kingfisher, Common Tern, Crossbill, Eagle Owl, Elk, European Badger,European Bison, European Hare, European Lynx, European Water Lily, European Wolf, Fallow Deer, Fieldfare, Goldcrest, Golden Eagle, Great Snipe, Greater Spotted Eagle, Hawfinch, Hawk Owl, Hedgehog, Little Bittern, Little Owl, Liver-moss, Mute Swan, Nuthatch, Osprey, Pygmy Owl, Red Deer,(Close-up and in Meadow), Red Fox, Red Squirrel, Roe Deer, Rook, Short-Eared Owl, Tawny Owl, Tengmalm's Owl, Ural Owl, Waxwing, White Stork, Waterlily, Waxwing, Wild Boar (Adult and Cub), Wolf
