About Caroline...

Hello,
My name is Caroline and I live in Colchester in United Kingdom. Colchester is claimed to be the oldest town in Britain and once it was the capital of Roman Britain. It has a castle set in a beautiful park and I am lucky to live very close by in Central Colchester. The castle is a Norman keep but it is built on the foundations of a Roman temple. Colchester is only an hour away from London, our capital, by train and 1/2 hour away from Clacton where there is a beach and pier. My family live 30 min away by car in a Suffolk town called Sudbury. This is where the famous painter Gainsborough lived and the surrounding area is known as Constable country after another famous painter of beautiful landscape scenes.

Unfortunately I do not have children but adore my two nieces. I then have an excuse for watching films like Despicable me 3 at the Cinema! I like taking photos of them and events such as the medieval and animal show days in the Castle park. I also like listening to both classical and pop music, reading a wide range of books and walking in the country.

I am not working presently due to illness but have worked previously in the Financial Services Industry giving investment advice and moving on the financial regulation within the area of compliance.

I have also worked at a further education college in Colchester which is in partnership with the successful University of Essex. There are lots of international students in Colchester which makes it a vibrant town.

I spent a year in France as part of my degree and have been fortunate to travel to places like Korea, New Zealand, Canada and Iceland. One day I would love to travel around Europe by train and visit Russia and Japan. I like steam trains and there is a steam railway nearby.

In terms of postcards it would be good to have ones showing landmarks or features of the places you live in. However, it is just a pleasure to get mail in the post which is not a bill or marketing literature, I like receiving written post, texts and emails do not compare at all. I should imagine it is a pleasant change for postmen too.
